Committees

Chapter committees are how we get things done!

Check out the committees that make it all happen.  Let us know which one you're interested in!

Membership - Responsible for finding ways to increase NAWIC membership numbers.  Maintain interest in the chapter and encourage all members to renew their memberships.  Coordinate social/fun events, membership drive.  Responsible for new member certificates and welcome at first meeting.

Professional Development & Education (PD&E) - Develops programs and projects to educate NAWIC members about the construction industry and to promote professional and personal growth of members with such things as tours, speakers and seminars.

Golf Tournament - Organize, schedule and coordinate our biggest fundraiser of the year!

Block Kids - Coordinates and oversees the Chapter’s local competition that introduces children in grades 1 through 6 to the construction industry in an effort to create an awareness of and promote an interest in future careers in the construction industry.  Typically held in January (national deadline is mid-February).

Women in Construction Week (WIC Week) - Held in March annuallyOrganizes the Chapter’s special events, such as tours of a construction site, proclamation signings, collaboration with other industry organizations and social events, to shine a light on Women in Construction during annual Women in Construction Week.

Marketing - Works to actively promote the events and activities in the chapter throughout the year.  Developing and distributing content through print and electronic marketing materials, social media content and website.  Support all committees and board members in getting information to members and supporters.

Girls Construction Camp - **new committee** Coordinate a girls construction camp to emphasize the importance and need for women in the industry.   Designed for middle school aged girls that explores the construction trades, architecture, engineering, and construction manufacturing through hands on experiences.

Little Libraries - **new committee**  Oversee the chapters current little library locations to ensure they are sturdy, clean and have a selection of books.  Coordinate donations/sponsorships of books and refill libraries as need (at least quarterly).
