Hello 2023!! What a year we have had in our chapter! For the past twelve months, we have grown our members and spread the word of NAWIC in our community. The beginning of a new year is always an exciting time, but in NAWIC, we start gearing up for so many things! We have plans to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of WIC Week by getting hands on in our communities and we'll be super busy. Be sure to check out the events and schedule below.
Also, for 2023, we are happy to be hosting our Southeast Region for Spring Forum in May. Registration is open, hotel rooms are available and we're looking for sponsors! Highlights


In honor of the 25th Anniversary of WIC Week, our chapter is asking for $25 donations to support the NAWIC Education Foundation. NEF provides education opportunities and programs to benefit and promote the construction industry for NAWIC members and non-members alike. They provide K-12 programs as well as accredited adult certifications to further enhance a person's knowledge and skills of this industry.

Application deadline for the NAWIC Founders Scholarship Foundation is February 28th. Don't miss this opportunity!

The Montgomery Chapter of Professional Women in Business has shared their scholarship information with us to help them spread the word.
Scholarship Criteria:
1)Must be a resident of Alabama
2) Must be enrolling in, or attending, a junior college, technical school, or university.
3) Must be enrolled in a construction-related curriculum

NAWIC Montgomery Chapter#267 - Meeting/Event Information (nawicmgm.org)
January is set aside for a mandatory Chapter Members only meeting to discuss important chapter business and upcoming events. Members must still register to be counted for lunch.

Thank you to CB&S Bank, Pike Road for hosting our January meeting and providing lunch!
There is no scheduled business meeting for February. Stay tuned for a social gathering from our Membership Committee.

March will be all about celebrating Women in Construction Week. See below for our calendar of scheduled events and activities!
WIC Week

Our WIC Week Committee is in full force with planning our activities and events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Women in Construction Week! See our current events list below but stay tuned to our website for live updates as plans are being made.
- Leading up to WIC Week members and Sponsors will build Little Free Libraries to place at various locations throughout the River Region as well as collecting donations of books to fill the libraries.
- Saturday, March 4th, members will deliver/install Little Free Libraries at requested locations.
- Collect "New Home" items for Family Sunshine Center.
- Monday, March 6th, Chapter Kick Off Event at Lakeview Center Patio
- Wednesday, March 8th, Region Wear Red Day, joint lunch with NAWIC Birmingham chapter members, tour Whitewater Project.
- Saturday, March 11th, Brunch Banquet at the Chapel at the Waters. Members and guests gather for a recap of WIC Week events. Winners will be announced for fundraising raffle and Little Free Libraries projects.

SAVE THE DATE - Planning is underway!
Go ahead and mark your calendars now for the 2023 Southeast Region Spring Forum, hosted by NAWIC Montgomery! We invite all members, non-members and other construction professionals within our Southeast Region (AL, GA, FL & TN) to join us for professional development and construction education right here in the River Region.
There will be two educational tracks - one will focus on construction/industry knowledge and the other will focus on personal development. We already have a great line up of speakers, so stay tuned for an official agenda soon.
