From the Board
Time really does fly when you are having fun. I cannot believe how fast the past year as my first term as President has come and gone (almost). I am very proud of what all our chapter has accomplished. Even though we lost a few members at the beginning of the year, we did not let it discourage us. We stayed busy through membership mixers and women's conferences and continued to grow, standing currently at 24 members.
We did not stick strictly to gaining members this year though. We reached out to the community to offer assistance where we could by collecting donations for the Family Sunshine Center, sponsoring a mom with needs for her daughter, sponsoring a teacher with school supplies for her classroom, as well as built and installed 6 Little Free Libraries throughout our communities, complete with donated books. Our hard work was rewarded at the Southeast Region Spring Forum where we came home with multiple awards. However, I think I can speak for us all when I say our hearts were full before the awards from all the smiles we saw from our efforts throughout the year. The year is not over. Our first ever golf tournament is right around the corner. I can't wait to see what all our chapter has in store for it this coming year.

August Member Only Golf Happy Hour

Happy hour golf clinic Friday, August 25th at 5:30 at the RTJ Capitol Hill golf course in Prattville. Wear comfortable (and cool) clothes and tennis shoes for our tour of the building followed by time on the range with drivers and drinks😊!! This will be a great way to gain some golf perspective in advance of the first annual NAWIC golf tournament!

Congratulations to our incoming 2023-2024 National Board of Directors that were installed at Annual Conference in Portland Oregon earlier this month!
Thank you to Chapter Vice President, Courtney Scott (Caddell Construction) for representing our chapter at Annual Conference. She accepted the National WIC Week award for Marketing in the Small Chapter category. Our chapter not only had social media marketing blasts, but we were also featured on billboards and local television. Congratulations to our 2023 WIC Week Committee and all of our chapter members on this accomplishment!
