NAWIC MGM December 2023 Newsletter
From the Board
Happy Holidays Everyone!
I am excited that to kick off 2024, our chapter is hosting a Block Kids event at Forest Avenue Academic Magnet on Saturday, January 27th, 2024. The Block Kids Program is an introductory look into the construction industry while having the kids use their imagination to create something and having fun. This event will be open to 30 elementary school students. We are looking forward to showing these students a glimpse into the many possibilities of careers in the construction industry.
Each student will have the same set of blocks, string, and other materials to build anything related to construction. It’s great to see all the finished projects because everyone has their own take. I know when our chapter participated at a meeting, we all ended up with such different designs.
If you would like to get involved, please contact me at [email protected].

Community Service

For December we are collecting diapers and baby wipes to assist the Gift of Life Foundation in "Operation Christmas Bottom". Please contact any chapter member with you donation or bring them to the December 12th meeting. All donations will be delivered to the Gift of Life collection center after the December 12th meeting. These items will go to mothers and babies in our local communities.
In October, our members lent a hand at Wesley Gardens Retirment Community in Montgomery and spruced up an outside patio. It was a pleasure to be able to breathe new life into this outdoor space so the residents could enjoy it during the nice fall days and into the spring season. Be sure to check out our social media pages for the highlights.
